Inviting courage to move you forward
We all want to avoid what’s uncomfortable, that's basic human nature.
Though sometimes we might get a glimpse and come see exactly to what degree we are working against ourselves without even knowing it…
Nonetheless, there's more to us than our instinct and tendency to stay put, we also have an innate drive to grow and explore life.

“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own souls.” - Carl Jung
WHY is it necessary to face our own “souls”?
Carl Jung, the famous psychiatrist, and father of psychoanalysis summarized the human tendency to stay stuck in this somewhat provocative but also curious quote.
What the mind knows, it’s comfortable with, however unuseful it might be. That's why we have resistance in the face of potential change.
Another famous quote from Jung is “what resists persists”.
To grow and evolve, we can’t avoid experiencing whatever it is that is keeping us from moving forward. We face our “soul”, meaning our conscious and unconscious beliefs, tendencies, and habits, by allowing them to come to the surface and into our conscious mind to pass through.
When encountering your resistance to moving forward, ask yourself:
What is the cost of avoiding what’s uncomfortable, what is the cost of staying where you are?
A cost common to all of us, and a very easy one to forget, is time. Time is the only thing that’s really valuable but so easy to disregard.
How much time do you have to spare?
The science to help you move forward
The question then becomes, WHAT and HOW do we move forward from where we are to where we want to be?
The simple answer is that it depends on WHERE YOU ARE.
Another famous psychiatrist, David R. Hawkins, illustrated HOW and WHAT to do depending on WHERE the person found themselves, illustrated by his model “the map of consciousness”.
In his model, he illustrated how the mind’s beliefs influence our emotions and how these were connected to different levels of consciousness.
He made a distinct difference between true and false beliefs.
The levels of “truth” are life-enhancing, positive states of consciousness such as acceptance, love, and joy, and the levels of “falsity” are the levels of consciousness that are draining your energy, associated with negative feelings such as guilt and shame with corresponding negative perceptions of self and the world.
The way forward, simply put, is to create awareness that allows the person to let go of the false beliefs in favor of the truer ones higher up the scale.
In connection with what I do of helping people lead with authenticity; the more "true" you are to yourself, the more authenticity you will lead with, and in relation to Hawkin's model; the more positive life-enhancing energy you will have available to you.
Now that we know WHY we should do it, what's the next step?
Accessing your courage
In Hawkins's model, the state of courage is a very important one, and when accessed, tends to make it easier from there.
When one decides to face one’s fears one experiences empowerment. Then one has the necessary energy to face one's own soul as per Jung’s quote.
ALL levels of consciousness have a purpose. The question is;
Are you experiencing them by conscious choice or because you are avoiding looking into your soul by unconscious habit and resistance?
What would be different if you had access to all the courage you needed to create the change that you want?
How to measure where you are & find the route forward
The training I base my work on is the Core Energy Coaching process taught by the renowned school of iPEC, considered in 2022 to provide the world’s best life coaching training.
The process taught by them, and the one I am providing, is specifically designed to help you move from where you are toward where you’d like to go. The theory behind the process is very similar to the one described in Hawkin’s model and “map of consciousness”.
The Energy Leadership Index Assessment
If you’re curious to learn more about how the different levels of consciousness apply to YOU, what specifically might be holding you back, as well as to know what’s POSSIBLE, the Energy Leadership Index Assessment, ELI, measures just this.
Unlike most personality-based tests, the ELI is an attitudinal test, designed to measure your most typical beliefs and attitudes and their corresponding levels of consciousness. Considered by Forbes as no 3 on the list of 11 tests an Executive must take, the test results give you an understanding of how your everyday perceptions (via your attitudes, values, beliefs, and level of consciousness) influence how you show up and in return how that affects your levels of stress as well as efficiency.
The test takes about 20 minutes to complete, followed up by a 70-90 minute debrief.
Book your ELI test here.
Going ALL IN
If you’re ready to take FULL ACTION but not sure where to start or where you’re going, my 1:1 Program in Self Leadership Development might be a good fit for you. The program also includes the ELI as a starting point. We will work together in the following steps:
We will discuss where you find yourself currently. Then we make sure to connect you with your authenticity before we move on to the next step.
Create a clear vision of where you’d like to go, experience, and accomplish.
Identify what’s keeping you stuck and what unconscious beliefs are connected to the different levels of consciousness that are holding you back. The results from the ELI will be used for a deeper understanding
Create a detailed plan of how you will reach your goals, YOUR way, and optimize your chances of success in a manageable fashion, whatever that means for you.
My intention with this program is to provide a process that gives you:
Connection with your inner clarity and the courage to listen to and follow it.
Access your courage and focus to walk your own way with confidence and self-respect, being true to yourself and being able to disregard the opinions of others.
A sense of safety and certainty of what your strengths and unique perspectives are, as well as the ability to share them however you'd like to.
